A “Little Blue” Birthday

Better late than never… Am I right? Seriously, who has time to sit down and blog now-a-days? Oh that’s right! A mommy who has had WAY too much caffein and is up until the wee hours of the night (lays head back and tries desperately to close eyes… nope… just gunna keep typing). So I realized I never had the fun of posting all about my little guy’s FIRST birthday. I promised myself I would NOT dwell on the fact that my baby is a toddler… must… resist… OK, after a moment to be all sappy, I’m back. I won’t

Moss Christmas Tree Ornaments

Never know what to do with the clear bulbs at the craft store? Look no further! These beautiful moss tree ornaments are easy to make and look elegant and stylish once finished. I love the way the Christmas lights on the tree reflect through these ornaments! Materials: Clear glass bulbs Variety pack of moss (I got mine at Joann Fabrics) Variety of Christmas sprigs (all the crafts stores have bins to choose from). Pick ones that you can cut down to size and fit in the opening of the bulbs. How to: After removing the top of the bulb, insert

Sheet Music Ornaments – DIY

When my husband and I were first married I bought some cheap ornaments. Over the last 5 years… well… let’s just say they are starting to look a little sad. Using a little bit of decoupage and some free Christmas sheet music I printed off the internet, I was able to turn drab into fab! I used one song per bulb, so I have fun reading the snippets of lyrics and trying to guess what song it is. I am so thankful I was able

A Mother’s Love

I know all of the mothers out there will understand what I am talking about when I say that it is pretty much impossible to love someone more than you love your children. I love my son so much that I sometimes think my heart will burst! As I was bouncing my little man to sleep the other day, I was praying and thanking God for this sweet little boy. I found myself saying, “Lord, I love him so much!” Immediately the thought came to mind, “I am supposed to love God even more than I love this little boy.”

All Comfort

Ahhh… sleep… that hidden treasure that mommy’s are all trying to figure out how to obtain. Dawson has never really liked naps. I think he is scared of missing something, but he has been a good night sleeper since a couple weeks after birth. But now we are on to that “4 month sleep regression.” Yesterday was a bit of a doozy with little sleep for several nights and terrible naps that day. There may have been a few tears shed by both mommy and son! After putting him to bed, just like predicted, he woke about 45 minutes later.

The Little Man Cave

This has definitely been my favorite project to date! My creative juices were in full swing while designing our little guy’s nursery. From painting, to sewing, to mounting antlers… I enjoyed every ounce of effort I put into making his nursery special. I knew from the beginning that I wanted the nursery to be gray and yellow, but when we found out our little wiggle worm was a boy, I sought to make the nursery “manly”… in a little boy kind of way anyways. Since daddy is an outdoorsman, I brought a little of the outdoors in. Daddy has fondly dubbed
